In the early 1940s, Fleischer Studios put out 17 short animated Superman films. This was the first animated appearance of Superman.

The first one of the series was actually called "Superman" (and most physical releases call it "The Mad Scientist").

Here at Filmogs, it appears that someone has submitted all 17 of these films together under the name "Superman".

I believe this is incorrect and that each of the 17 should have their own Film page here at Filmogs. I think we should take the one linked just above, and turn it into the first film and then make 16 more pages.

Any objections?

(BTW, this all came about as I began submitting this release https://films.discogs.com/release/403476-superman-friends-75th-anniversary-collection - I want to tie films to it but am waiting for this forum topic to resolve.)

looks a overall page of the tv series with somebody saying it have 17 episodes. Nothing wrong with that if you ask me.

That there is overall page not mean you can created 16 other pages for each episode. 16 ?, yes because i already made one a whyle a go for one episode.

Discogs goes by the original title of a film, however that looks to be the first episode by the IMDB link.

OK, I went ahead and added all the short Superman films from 1941-1943.

I decided to leave https://films.discogs.com/film/204819-superman active as a "film" to represent the entire series. I'm still not a big fan of this process because TV series in general have lots of different directors, producers, actors, etc. and not all of them appear/make every episode. Similar decisions were made for other series like https://films.discogs.com/film/110603-lost and https://films.discogs.com/film/33604-alias

Finally, I still need to add all the Popeye and other episodes found in these discs.

Yeah, I didn't know which way would be best on that. The site didn't even have film categories 2 years ago, now there's not enough.
Is it a bunch of short fims? So are anthologies and television programs.
Is it a Serial? It was advertised as such back in the day.
Is it a Series? That's what someone at wikipedia called it.
Why doesn't this site have what it needs to express what it is? Film Series
While were at it, let's ad, Serial Film, Anthology, Mini-Series, TV Movie, and Compilation
