Cynthia Ellen Nixon (born April 9, 1966 New York City, New York, USA) is an American actress, activist, and politician.

For her portrayal of Miranda Hobbes in the HBO series Sex and the City (1998–2004), Nixon won the 2004 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
