  • Died: (Rome, Lazio, Italy) age 57

Mario Ruccione was an Italian composer.

Musician, he began composing at a very young age - his Madrid Tango song, launched by Gabrè, dates back to 1926 - and after moving to Rome he began to frequent the theatrical and cinematographic environment: thus he added the composition of soundtracks to the activity of song composer - during the course of his career he wrote 1,500 of them, on texts by authors such as Giuseppe Micheli, Giuseppe Fiorelli, Michele Galdieri, Enzo Bonagura, Astro Mari and Antonio Pugliese - who became famous for their dark or triumphant tones, with tear-jerking or praising messages to the regime.
