Alberto Fialho Janes was one of the most popular Portuguese composers of the 1950s and 1960s, author of some of the best known songs by Amália Rodrigues.

The quality of the themes he wrote places Janes in a prominent position among the Portuguese composers of his time, enjoying today a well-deserved reputation among fado interpreters.
