Mogol

  • Born: (Milan, Lombardy, Italy)

Mogol, pseudonym of Giulio Rapetti Mogol, is an Italian lyricist, record producer and writer.

Mogol is remembered above all for his long and successful artistic partnership with Lucio Battisti, although his contribution to Italian pop music has been broader since the early sixties. They have recorded songs written by him, among others, Caterina Caselli, Dik Dik, Fausto Leali, New Trolls, Equipe 84, Little Tony, Riccardo Cocciante and many others.

Born as Giulio Rapetti, on 30 November 2006 he was authorized by decree of the Minister of the Interior to add the surname "Mogol" to his own. As reiterated in his recent autobiography, he does not like to be called a lyricist, but prefers to call himself an author.
