Giancarlo Del Re was a journalist, writer, humorist, screenwriter, lyricist and creator of Italian television series.

Starting from the sixties, Del Re began to alternate his work as a journalist with that of a screenwriter.

At his debut as a musical lyricist (1972) Giancarlo Del Re writes, together with Leo Chiosso, the text of the television theme song of the transmission Teatro 10, interpreted by Mina and Alberto Lupo: Parole parole. The song has a resounding international success. In addition to Mina, it is also interpreted in Italian by the Montefiori Cocktail, Casanostra, Piluka, Licia Fox (Italian for the Belgian market), Georgina and Joe Diverio (Italian for the Lebanese market); in French by Dalida and Alain Delon, Les Charlots, Les Enfoirés, Sarah Hohn, Beau Catcheur and Maya (French for the Japanese market); in English (title: Remember) by Shirley Bassey and Al Corley and by Groupe 2000; in Spanish by Silvana Di Lorenzo and Osvaldo Brandi, by Carmen Sevilla and by Javier Corcobado; in Portuguese by Maysa & Raul Cortez; in German by Vicky Léandros; in Dutch by Nicole & Hugo; in Turkish by Ajda Pekkan, Göksel and Bülent Nargaz; in Hungarian by Vincze Viktória and Lukács Sándor and by Stefano & Rita; in Croatian by Ksenija Erker and Rivers. It is also recorded by Gil Ventura on sax, Severino Gazzelloni on flute and Stefano Bollani on piano.
