Pippo Baudo

  • Born: (Militello in val di Catania, ex Militello in Val di Noto, Catania, Sicily, Italy)

Pippo Baudo, pseudonym of Giuseppe Raimondo Vittorio Baudo, is a television host, radio host and Italian lyricist.

He made his debut in the early sixties, becoming one of Rai's top television presenters for all subsequent decades, despite having worked for short periods - indeed without too much luck - even in Mediaset.

During his activity he has conducted numerous successful varieties such as Settevoci, Canzonissima, Domenica in, Fantastico, Serata d'onore, Novecento and the Sanremo Festival, of which he holds the record of conducting, having presented it for thirteen times between 1968 and 2008.

Parallel to his television activity, he also participated in several films and fiction - mainly in the role of himself - and wrote some music tracks, exploited above all in the television and cinema field.
