Umberto Lenzi (Massa Marittima) was an Italian director, screenwriter and writer. Among the major exponents of the poliziottesco, he has in fact directed titles that have become cult films of the genre, as Milano odia: la polizia non può sparare, Roma a mano armata and Napoli violenta. Hank Milestone, Bob Collins, Humphrey Humbert and Harry Kirkpatrick sometimes signed.
He has always declared himself an anarchist. Among his masters, the director has always put Raoul Walsh and Samuel Fuller first. In 2008 he made his debut as a writer of noir.
