Federico Fellini (January 20, 1920 Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, Italy - October 31, 1993 Rome, Lazio, Italy) was an Italian director, screenwriter, cartoonist and writer.

Considered one of the greatest directors in the history of cinema, over the course of almost forty years - from Lo sceicco bianco of 1952 to La voce della luna in 1990 - he has "portrayed" dozens of feature films a small crowd of memorable characters.

His films La strada, Le notti di Cabiria, 8½ and Amarcord won the Academy Awards for best foreign film.
